Sunglasses are very fashionable for every ages. But sunglasses has more aspect not just about fashion. How can sunglasses be useful at fishing?
Fishing sunglasses often make the difference between caught fish and lost fish. The glare drastically reduces visibility when you watch the water surface with the naked eye: you won’t see the underwater structures or the fish. Moreover, without fishing sunglasses it will become almost impossible to watch the water surface; besides the risk of crystalline and retina injury, that are severe forms of eye damage, intense light normally gives eye weariness and headaches. Fishing sunglasses will eliminate the glare and block the harmful ultraviolet rays. Many fishermen prefer buying sunglasses for all conditions, meaning that no matter the weather, vision will not be impaired. Fishing sunglasses can also be rated according to the materials of which the lenses are made.
Glass is a good lens material because of durability and visual acuity, but it is considered too heavy by many users. Polycarbonate lenses are lightweight and have a good resistance range to impact, but such fishing sunglasses can more easily deteriorate by scratching. Acrylic lenses make one other possible choice, although not a very good one, because despite the quality anti-glare properties the material can distort vision. As for lens color, fishing sunglasses are available in copper, brown, amber and gray.
Gray fishing sunglasses absorb light best without distorting colors. Experts recommend this kind of lens color for open water fishing on bright days. Copper fishing sunglasses are very soothing for the eyes, they increase the visual abilities, working great for fishing that requires lots of sighting applications. Another top color for all forms of fishing is brown thanks to the high-quality true color perception and the unchanged contrast. For bright sunshine or clouded days, for lakes or streams, brown lenses will serve the fisherman well.
As for amber lenses, this kind of fishing sunglasses are effective on cloudy days or when the light conditions are low at dawn and at dusk. Do not neglect the importance of polarization because the anti-glare coating used on quality fishing sunglasses does not allow the reflected light to pass to your eye. Some types of fish such as bonefish or flat, are out of reach if you don’t have good polarized lenses. Last but not least, good sunglasses will also prevent wind and insects from entering your eyes, increasing the comfort and making fishing even more enjoyable.
